I’m currently working on what could be classified as a character study. It’s not usual for me, I’ve done several already in this ‘verse. One of which I absolutely loved (if you know me, you know that’s a rarity). The other was to provide back details for the scene I was working at the time.
(My husband and I had one of our patented book discussion talks Tuesday night at Starbucks (BTW, you’ll find all of these patented book discussion take place at various Starbucks – it’s the Think Tank or something). I bounce some of the things I’ve been working off on him and he in turn provides some good feedback and ideas of what I could possibly do. So this was the case this past Tuesday and I came away armed with some ideas for the stuff I’ve got working.)
This one is much the same, provide details to a situation referred to book four & five of THC (yes, you read that right). So, nothing unusual there. What has me amused however is while I can’t for the life of me seem to come up with a name that I’m happy with for a pivotal character in the study, one of the other characters names’ just flowed right off the tongue and I really like it.
So, we have a character that I really enjoy the name of and one that I can’t think of one so I’ve been calling him simply “Bob”. Goes to show you the two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to writing.
