I've been mulling RT because my book isn't even out yet - it's still in edits. I'd like to think it'd be out by late April/early May, but I'm still new like you and don't know how the timelines are working. So, I guess it seems a little weird to me to decide about going to something like that when I don't have anything out with my name on it yet! Thanks! I did Excerpt Monday last month and it was totally worth it. I got to follow new authors and read their work and more excitingly for me, people actually came to my site and read my stuff. They left me comments too. I was rather thrilled at the result. (I am such a newbie, most people don't even know who I am, lol) So, if you do it, I believe its totally worth the time. I have been mulling over going to the RT as well. For me its a nice long flight though. I read the conference schedule and some of the topics sounded awesome! But I think the vampire ball is what got me really eager to go. I am a bit quiet as well, so I understand how you are feeling. I think I've got the problem reversed. I hate stretching silence- makes me really uncomfortable and to avoid it I'm getting all chatty and can't seem to stop. Bf always says he can't imagine that I was a real silent type as a kid. But I was and at one point I just thought wtf and started to talk. If someone doesn't like it.
