Six Sentence Sunday

First, a bit of business. Tomorrow is Excerpt Monday and, like usual, I’ll be participating. I’ve queued up a scene from Flash of Dark, book 1 in the Rebirth series, were we get to see the main characters first kiss.  Also, tomorrow (usually between 5 pm and 7pm EST) Flash of Dark releases. I’ve still got my Release Day contest going here and it ends tomorrow (I’ll actually extend the time on it a little as I’ll be home all day because of the holiday – 6 pm EST is the cut-off) and I’ll also be doing an interview over at The GeekyBookworm tomorrow as well.

Busy day!

To settle in and relax, since I spend my Sundays usually writing – I’m going to do something I haven’t in a while – Six Sentence Sunday. Here are six sentences from my current WIP, titled Blood Fever and it’s the second book the Rebirth series.

The oak trees surrounding me cracked and made noises as they swayed in the ever increasing breeze. They talked to each other, speaking a language I wasn’t capable of understanding, but I did faintly recognized. I didn’t understand why. The aging trunks bent toward one another, weeping their brightly colored autumn leaves as they cried for the impending death of summer. I reveled in the feel of the texture of the leaves as they moved through the air around me and caressed against my naked skin. The wind kicked up again, swirling the fallen leaves in a vortex that I watched reach up into the vivid blue sky overhead.

Hope you enjoy your day!
