Taking a pause in the February First Submission series to do Six Sentence Sunday. Not sure what that is? Scroll down to find out. But first, how about six sentences from the book I just finished the 1st draft on? This is from Command, Ryan’s book (yes, it finally has a viable title! ) and is related to Hardware.

“Walk to the treeline, you’ll find a well-worn path there—follow it. You’ll know when to stop.” Beth nodded and started to move away, but Ryan touched her arm to stop her. “Naked by the time I arrive, understood?”
Her eyes glinted in the soft light of morning. “Yes, Master.”

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

See? Easy. Want to play? See the site for information on how to do just that: http://sixsunday.com

It finally has a title too! But…I’m not sharing just yet. I never make it a secret I love to write tortured heroes. And Ryan, a tenant at the warehouse Sanctuary (which was first introduced in Hardware), is no exception. Six more from Ryan’s book.

Ryan started to sing a stripped down and raw song—the sort he poured his utter soul into because it meant the most to him. He drew the entire crowd with his raspy voice as he sang of love and loss. About mistakes and long forgotten memories. But most importantly, he sang about heartbreak.
He knew all eyes were on him as his powerful voice sang vocals that tore him apart.
It was cathartic—a cleansing of his soul—and very much overdue.

Beth gave a soft sigh as she fanned her hand, pressing it against his chest. The contact was so simple, yet intensely intimate.
Ryan gloried in the moment, cradling her while she drifted along in subspace. He wouldn’t rush her out of it because he knew the intoxicating effect was a hard thing to pull away from. Instead, he dragged her closer, checking her breathing and pupils. Satisfied, he fit her head under his chin and leaned against the wall—perfectly at peace for the first time in forever.

Kate stood on tip-toe, reaching around Tripp’s leg to pull Snyder’s mouth to hers. He grunted in surprise, one of his hands lifting to the back of her neck to drag her closer. She nipped at his bottom lip, sucking on his tongue when he slid it into her mouth. Dropping her hand, she caressed the firm curve of his ass and was delighted to discover he continued to keep pace fucking Tripp while he kissed her.
She didn’t think it was possible, but she became even wetter at the thought of the picture the three of them made, spread out on her kitchen counter giving into their desperate need for one another. Anxious to have more contact, she walked her fingers over Tripp’s abdomen and wrapped her hand around his cock.

Brady couldn’t help but wonder what he’d gotten himself into. Maybe it was more than he could handle. It wouldn’t be the first time he was in over his head. While he didn’t mind expanding his horizons when it came to sex, he certainly didn’t want to find himself caught up with some guy who only wanted to watch him play with himself.

“Do you…get off watching people do stuff like that?” he asked cautiously, afraid of what the answer would be.

“So far, only you.”

As I said last week, I’ve got a few project going right now. Thought I’d give a glimpse at another one. Today’s selection is from a Ryan’s book. For those not familiar with Ryan, readers met him as a secondary character in Hardware.

He was smart and well-trained enough to know when he should listen to his gut.
And right now, his gut screamed to have Beth.
Her gaze fell as he turned and it gave him ample opportunity to study her mannerisms — her tells. She made quite a picture, kneeling in a short skirt on the walkway he’d laid down two years ago. His active imagination was proficient enough to visualize what it would be like to see her doing the same thing, but nude.
Wearing only his ropes.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

I’ve been working on various projects throughout the week and thought I’d give a little peek at one of the books I’m working on. I’ve been blamed for dropping readers right into the middle of the action in the first chapter (not that it’s a bad thing…), and this book is no exception.

Storm chasers meet tornado. Six sentences from (and this is a title reveal…) Chasing Sin:

The deep growl the tornado gave indicated Kate’s Jeep only whet its appetite. Now it took direct aim at Snyder’s truck as it shifted directions again. A heavy piece of debris slammed into the side of the truck with such force the vehicle went up on two wheels and jerked to the left.
“Get us the fuck out of here!”
The truck slammed onto four wheels again and they gave a piercing squeal as the rubber found traction. The transmission kicked into gear and Tripp gunned the engine in reverse as he fought with the chaos swirling around them.
