It’s been an extremely stressful week for me personally (family illnesses, an earthquake & a hurricane). So I felt like I needed one of those moments that make your knees go weak. Six lines from the third book in the Rebirth series, Forged in Fire.
A slow, hard breath passed my lips and Logan’s grip eased as he spun me around to face him. A genuine smile lit his features and I couldn’t help but smile in return. His hands lifted to clasp around the same place Quinn’s hands had just been and his mouth hovered just inches from mine. “You know, he’s always going to make you fall, make you feel like you’re dying. But I’m always going to be there to pick you up and bring you back to life.” His lips met mine and everything seemed right with the world despite the fight that lay ahead of us.
