Six Sentence Sunday – 5/16

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday – today will be a selection from my newest release, Midnight’s Ghost, a science fiction romance – enjoy! (BTW, there are two contests running for a chance to win Midnight’s Ghost, details are here – one of which closes at midnight)

“No, but they made me hurt others. The scientists of the facility wanted to know how far they could push me and my abilities before I would break.” His voice wavered a little and he cleared his throat to cover it.
I dreaded asking this of him, but I knew, in the long run, it was probably better for him to get it all out. “Do you remember how long it was before that happened?”
A stricken look cast long shadows over his face. “I never broke.”

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy
2) pick six sentences
3) post ‘em on Sunday
